Deputy Warden, Former Seal, Ready to "Dive" Into Corrections

From L to R: Exec. Lamont McClure, Deputy Warden
David Penchishen and Director of Correction James Kostura
James C Kostura is a former Navy Seal who began working for Northampton County Corrections in 1993. He started out as a Corrections Officer and worked his way up through the ranks to became a Deputy Warden in charge of Community Corrections. Last night, he was confirmed unanimously as Director of Corrections. His salary is set at $93,626.

There were several bad jokes about Kostura "diving" into the new job.

With this conformation, Lamont McClure's cabinet is complete with the exception of one position - Sheriff. That position has been advertised in accordance with the Administrative Code, and McClure will consult with the President Judge before announcing his appointment.

Correction 1:45 pm: I forgot about Court Services, and thank the reader who pointed this error out.

"McClure's cabinet is complete with the exception of one position - Sheriff"

There is no Director of Court Services either.

I stand corrected. You got me. That's what's good about an interactive blog. I donot get away with factual errors.

No one give Kostura a hard time, and the vote was unanimous.

WHY are people attacking the dems over something that did not happen. Check the tapes.

Hit was advertised in local newspaper in accord with the Admin Code.

Bernie,

Can you provide links to where the job opening was? I can't find it anywhere.

If you want to know when McClure will be appointing a new Sheriff, ask him and the PJ. I am really getting tired of those who are harping on this, especially in view that many children and elderly have been ignored bc staff there is so low.
