"Declaration of Democratic Principals(?)" Unveiled by Senate Candidates Today

So around 10 AM today, a bunch of Democratic state senate candidates will solemnly gather at Harrisburg's capitol steps and announce what a news release actually calls a "Declaration of Democratic Principals[sic]."

They claim their Declaration will detail "commitments to jobs, education, reform, transportation and the unalienable rights of every Pennsylvanian citizen."

How about a commitment to learn the difference between "principle" and "principal"?

Democrats are in control of the House. It seems that no matter what the party, the chief commitment of these legislators is to themselves. Pennsylvania's 233 legislators have a support staff of nearly 3,000, although some staffers claim it's really lower. 182 of these employees make more than their bosses ($78,314), and they all get to participate in a defined benefit pension plan.

I'm not seeing much movement from either party to do anything about this bloated staff.

And you wonder why I am running for state senate. PA is the most over represented state in the union. There are too many senators, representatives, with too many staffers, and the benefits are excessive. The citizens didn't vote on the pay and benefit packages, the officials did. We need a constitutional convention to get things back in order.
