Do Not Bet Against the Northampton County Bulldog

"How much do want to bet that I know exactly when tonight's council meeting will end?"

That's the question Ron Angle posed when I bumped into him in the parking lot outside the Northampton County Courthouse last night. We were both headed to the 6:30 PM County Council meeting.

Now, municipal meetings run usually anywhere between a ten minutes and eight hours. You never know. I've tried guessing just long or short, and I'm usually wrong. But Angle claimed he knew the precise minute, 6:50 PM, at which the meeting would end, so I met him lunch.

Last night's meeting ended at exactly 6:50 PM. I'll get him a cup of those thirty cent noodles.

What no discussion of the layoffs and the miscomunication between Falk and Stoffa.

This is the first step to layoffs. Lets see how unbiased you are dealing with Stoffa layoffs. You claimed the Reibman layoffs were unnecessary.

It will be fun to read all the wonderful reasons for the Stoffa layoffs. I'm sorry I hear they are NOT layoffs they are mandatory furloughs.

A rose by any other name is whatever the Stoff wants it to be. Let the spinning begin.

I don't understand why county employees are so outraged at the idea of layoffs when everyone and their mother in the private sector has been losing jobs since Dec. 2007. Where does this sense of entitlement come from? They should count their blessings they don't work for the private sector. They'd be in the soup line two years ago with useless crappy corporate insurance.

No layoffs are being planned. This is just a nasty rumor.

Read the MC forum the layoffs are being discussed. Falk spilled the beans. This voluntary thing is to give Stoffa cover so the press praises him next year when he throws out employees, while he collects a 40% raise.

Oh thats right, so will County Council and the Controller. Employees know they are being screwed.

You folks post lies at both places. That's what they are. No layoffs are planned. I git that from Stoffa himself and will post it soon.

Imagine the good you could do if you spent your time telling the truth.

I just seen the hidden information being put together by Falk.

Operation dump employees is already beyond the planning stage.

Why should employees be comforted by Stoffa telling you, one of his propaganda stooges what he plans to do.

Becaue of your irrational hatred for Stoffa, you are willing to scare the county workforce with what you know to be a lie. Shame on you.
