The Salvation Army is Looking for a Few Good Men (and Women)

The New Salvation Army Toy Castle for Those in Need will be open at Westgate Mall, starting on Monday, December 17 through December 21. Thanks to this toy castle, families receive food and clothing. Disadvantaged children find toys under their Christmas trees.

It will be open all week between 7 AM and 8:30 PM. If you'd like to volunteer a few hours at that time, just click on this link.

I'm hoping that the title word "Slavation" is a typo. The content of the post is obviously an endorsement of the Salvation Army's efforts. I've supported the Salvation Army for years. Sadly, they are one of the few major charities that has not been plagued by scandal or theft. Given all of the problems with local politics and charities, I don't think an attempt at humor like this is necessary.

Rs, Lighten up, dude. It's just a typo. I can't spell check my headlines and never noticed the error.

Sorry if I seem over the top. It's just that I've seen too many major league charities really badly managed or riped off. The best was the United Way president down in D.C. who stole money to support a high flying life style and a mistress. At his trial, he attempted a defense basing his behavior on "shrinking brain syndrome". He was convicted, but the charity last hundreds of thousands.

I had assumed that it was a typo, but not carried through at the end.

RS, Like you, I value the SA. I particularly like the way they help folks going thru a hard time.

SA efforts = good.

SA bell ringers = bad

lol.

I do like the good that the SA does, and I really admire their efforts. I just can't stand the bell ringers.

Are you volunteering at all?
